Guardiola turns the “City” conference into a platform for humanitarian protest against wars and Palestine – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The recent press conference of Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola, was not just talk about football tactics or Mercato expenses, but rather it turned into a humanitarian platform that shocked sports circles with its audacity.
Guardiola said that he will continue to use his position as coach of Manchester City to speak on behalf of the victims of conflicts and acts of violence in the world. Guardiola’s statements came in a press conference before the League Cup semi-final second leg between Manchester City and Newcastle United, five days after he expressed his support for children in the occupied Palestinian territories during his participation in a charity event in Barcelona.
The Spanish coach told reporters in Manchester, “Never before in human history has the information been so clear before our eyes.” Guardiola feels pain.
He added, “The genocide in Palestine, what happened in Ukraine, in Russia, and all over the world in Sudan, and everywhere. What is happening in front of us? Do you want to see that? These are our problems as human beings.”
The Spanish coach stressed that societies must work collectively to improve their conditions.
He continued, “Look at what happened in the United States. Renee Judd and Alex Peretti were killed. Tell me how you can defend that.” The killing of American citizens by officers of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Department sparked widespread protests in the United States.
“When I see the pictures, I feel sorry because they are painful. That is why, in every situation where I can help by speaking for a better society, I will try and I will be present – always. This is for my children, for my family and for you,” Guardiola said.
He concluded by saying: “There is no perfect society, no perfect place, and I am not perfect. We have to work to be better.”
