Gharib chairs a government meeting – Al-Ikhbariya

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Seifi Gharib chaired a government meeting devoted to studying many files.

At the beginning of the meeting, the government, headed by Prime Minister Saif Gharib, studied the regulatory framework related to framing the Olympiad of educational subjects for national education. This approach aims to establish a space to discover talented and innovative people and create an appropriate environment to enhance the spirit of competition among students, with the aim of raising their academic level and preparing the national team for the International School Olympiad.

On the other hand, and in the context of preserving national memory, the government listened to Hour’s presentation of the preparations for celebrating the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the revolution of November 1, 1954, under the slogan: “A message to the generations.”

For this occasion, a rich and diverse program of activities was prepared to celebrate this historical milestone, with the aim of highlighting the national and humanitarian dimension of the Algerian revolution.

The government also listened to a presentation on preparations for the seventh edition of the International Desert Tourism Festival, scheduled to be organized from December 4 to 6, 2025 in Timimoun, under the slogan: “The Bride of the Algerian Desert: The Red Oasis, Timimoun.”

The aim of organizing this event is to promote tourism in the Algerian Sahara and to value traditional craftsmanship, culture and local traditions.

Finally, the government listened to a presentation on the waste management and pollutant control system at the national level.
This presentation highlighted the efforts made by the state to improve waste management and enhance environmental governance, within the framework of the national policy for sustainable development.
With regard to special waste, many activities have been launched with a view to their gradual elimination, in particular through international cooperation programs and treatment operations financed from national resources.

For this purpose, the government has developed a joint sectoral action plan with the aim of improving waste collection, treatment and valorisation, as well as strengthening cooperation with local communities and institutional partners.
