For distinguished students.. This is the date of the Algerian Mathematics Olympiad 2026 – New Algeria

The Ministry of National Education decided to organize the first qualifying competition for the third edition of the Algerian Mathematics Olympiad, entitled 2026, on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for the benefit of distinguished students in mathematics studying in public and private educational institutions and Cubs of the Nation schools.

In this context, I ordered, through an instruction to all the directorates, the appointment of a state committee to follow up on the organization of the competition, which is composed of supervisors in mathematics, a national education inspector, a secondary education inspector, an intermediate education inspector, a secondary education professor, and a middle education professor.

According to a correspondence from the Ministry, No. 319, the competition aims to select and prepare national elites for the various international competitions mentioned, as it includes, in the intermediate education stage, students who obtain an average equal to or exceeding 20/18 in mathematics during the first semester of the 2025-2026 academic year.

Students interested in participating

It also includes, in the secondary education stage, students in the first year of secondary school, common core, and science and technology, and students in the second year of secondary school sections, in the technical mathematics and experimental sciences sections, who obtained an average equal to or greater than 20/17 in mathematics in the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.

Competition arrangements.

In the same regard, the Ministry ordered the Ministry to seize and extract lists of students concerned with the competition, according to each level, and prepare summonses for them by the Education Directorate.

She added that it is necessary to coordinate with the principals of the Ashbal Al-Ummah schools, in order to obtain a list of the students concerned with the competition, and to distribute the model training topics attached, with this publication, to the students interested in participating, according to each category, with subject professors at the level of each institution being assigned to accompany them in this.

It also called for specifying the centers for conducting the competition and distributing students to them at a rate of 20 students, in each hall, including students from the National Youth Schools and private educational institutions, and appointing the centers for conducting the competition and the supervision and guarding body before Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Sending student invitations to educational institutions before Thursday, January 8, 2026, and ensuring that the competition topics are printed, placed in sealed envelopes, and sent to the heads of the procedure centers on Thursday, January 15, 2026, with an emphasis not to open them until the day of the exam.

By the way, the Ministry announced that the first topic is for the category of students in the first and second years of intermediate, and the second is for the category of students in the third and fourth years of average, while the third topic is for the category of students in the first and second years of secondary school for the divisions concerned.

In the same context, the Ministry ordered the appointment of a center or centers for grading answer sheets, under the supervision of a national education inspector, a secondary education inspector, or an intermediate education inspector for mathematics, with the appointment of professors in charge of grading, provided that the grading takes place on Sunday, January 18, 2026.

In addition to sending the final results records and nominal lists to the students participating in the competition, according to the categories arranged according to the results obtained in the competition from the highest score to the lowest, and another format to the Directorate of Specialized Education and Special Education on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, as the deadline.
