“FAF” renews its call on clubs to rationalize expenses – New Algeria

The Algerian Football Federation, “FAF,” called on clubs to adhere to its previous recommendations and instructions regarding the necessity of rationalizing expenses.

In the past few years, the national professional football championship has witnessed a clear depletion of government funding sources through clubs – which are supported by national companies – concluding imaginary deals in the player transfer market, which cost them huge financial losses, especially with foreign players, which prompted the Algerian Football Federation to launch a package of laws and recommendations to reduce this phenomenon.

He added: “He also reiterated that good governance of clubs and competitions is not an option, but rather an inevitable necessity that directly determines the future of Algerian football.”

The “FAF” statement continued: “Therefore, the officials of the various clubs and bodies have full responsibility for performing their duties, by ensuring sound and transparent management that is consistent with the prevailing rules.”

“FAF” stressed the necessity of strict control of expenses, as it stressed in a statement by its federal office: “This requires strict control of expenses, the elimination of all excess costs, as well as strict adherence to administrative, financial and organizational procedures. Only good governance, based on responsibility, transparency and financial discipline, will enhance the confidence of partners and protect the interests of clubs and football bodies.”

This is the second time that FAF, headed by Walid Sadi, has called for rationalizing the clubs’ expenses, after the warning it had previously issued about one year ago.
