The Director General of the Algerian Energy Company, Mohamed Boutaba, said today, Monday, that completing the emergency plan for seawater desalination includes the establishment of 11 stations, including 5 stations in the process of completion with a capacity of 300 thousand cubic meters per day, in addition to 6 other stations with the aim of reaching 60 percent of the capacity. The same spokesman noted that “the company affiliated with the Sonatrach complex chose Algerian institutions to provide 100 percent local equipment, including a startup company in seawater filtration equipment, while assigning a group of engineers and technicians to maintain and activate the program for the five seawater desalination plants.”
The Director General of the Algerian Energy Company stressed the importance of training in the field of investment in seawater desalination, by including standards and scientific materials in the field of high technologies and teaching field training, where these standards are activated in Algerian universities in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as training centers in coordination.
