In a step to dispel the confusion that accompanied his participation in an international event in New York, Representative Abdel -Wahab Yaqoubi issued a statement explaining the details of his attendance an international meeting on “the arbitrary use of spying software” on September 24, stressing that there is no normalization or retreat from the principles of Algeria.
The deputy, who represents the Algerian community abroad in the National People’s Assembly, the artificial intelligence course in the Parliament of the Mediterranean, explained that his participation came at an official invitation received by the National People’s Assembly in late August, to deliver a technical intervention on the legislative and judicial dimensions of spying software.
But what was not expected, according to Yaqoubi’s statements, is that the meeting witnessed in his recent moments a “fabricated scene”, which he described as beyond the official context of the effectiveness, as an Egyptian deputy registered a propaganda position for his government, which raised questions about the nature of the attendance at the meeting.
In his response to the false criticisms and interpretations that spread, Yaqoubi stressed five basic points: the first is that the meeting was free of any official Israeli representation, and that the person who is subject to controversy attended as a person as a representative of the Druze community. Second, he stressed that his pro -occupation stances and the opposite of the occupation are fixed and documented through its four -decade struggle.
The third point dealt with the nature of Algerian participation in international forums, as it considered that the presence of Algeria in bodies that includes representatives of the Israeli entity does not mean normalization, but rather a platform to communicate the Algerian voice and support fair issues. He also mentioned that Algeria is a founding member of the Mediterranean Parliament since 2005, although this parliament includes Israeli representation, as well as an official representation of the State of Palestine.
On the fourth point, Yaqoubi stressed that it represents an extension of the Algerian position in support of the legitimate resistance and rejecting Israeli criminal policies. As for the fifth point, it included his disclosure of his former candidacy for the position of Vice -President of the Mediterranean Parliament, and his resignation from this position after reviewing the situation with the officials, in turn, as a decision of artificial intelligence.
At the end of his statement, the deputy expressed his understanding of the angry reactions, describing its owners as “the loyal jealous”, again his commitment to the fixed Algerian position that rejects normalization in all its forms, and supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people
