Control Authority: An awareness campaign to protect personal data and privacy – New Algeria

The Post and Electronic Communications Regulatory Authority announced today, Sunday, the launch of an awareness campaign under the slogan “Protect your digital identity… to protect your privacy,” with the aim of enhancing awareness of the importance of protecting personal data and preserving privacy in the expanding digital space, in a statement.

The Authority confirmed that the campaign aims to provide subscribers with the necessary instructions to ensure the safety of the digital identity, as it called on everyone to take a basic and necessary step before stopping the mobile phone SIM card or terminating the subscription contract, which is to update or disconnect all digital accounts and services associated with the mobile phone number in question.

These accounts and services include social media accounts such as Facebook or Instagram, email services, especially those used to recover passwords, as well as bank accounts, financial applications, and other applications and services that require a link to a phone number.

The Post and Electronic Communications Control Authority also stressed that “your digital identity begins with your SIM card, so protect yourself.”
