During a week, the detachments of the National People’s Army managed to arrest 9 support elements of terrorist groups, while 28 drug dealers were arrested and attempts to enter 8 guns and 53 kilograms of the treated, over the border with Morocco.
A statement by the Ministry of National Defense stated on Wednesday that in the context of combating terrorism, the national army detachments managed to eliminate 6 terrorists and retrieve 6 Kalashnikov machine guns, a quantity of ammunition and other purposes, while 9 support elements were arrested for terrorist groups, during separate operations across national territory.
In the same context, and in the context of fighting organized crime and continuing the efforts aimed at addressing the scourge of drug trafficking in the country, joint detachments of the National People’s Army, in coordination with various security interests during operations through military aspects, stopped 28 drug dealers and thwarted attempts to enter 8 guns and 53 kilograms of how treated across the border with Morocco, and seized 170,142 hallucinogenic tablets.
Other army detachments also stopped 529 people and seized 23 vehicles, 327 electric generators, 220 pressure hammers, 3 metal detectors, in addition to quantities of gold and stones ore and equipment used in illegal gold excavations, in both Tamanrasset, Baji Mukhtar Tower, NAA, A, Gazm, Gant, and Elysi.
The statement added that other army detachments stopped 17 other people and seized a heavy machine gun and two Kalashnikov machine guns, a semi -Siminov automatic rifle, a automatic pistol, 10 hunting rifles, in addition to 31.635 liters of fuel, 158 quintals of tobacco, and 2,65 tons of foodstuffs for smuggling and speculation, during separate operations.
On the other hand, the coast guards thwarted illegal immigration attempts on the national coast and rescued 514 people who were on traditional boats, while 671 illegal immigrants of different nationalities across the national territory.
