Civil Protection records 530 interventions due to weather fluctuations – New Algeria

The civil protection services counted 530 interventions related to the recent weather fluctuations, especially related to strong winds blowing across several states of the country, according to what was reported today, Friday, by a statement from the same services.

The source explained that since the beginning of the weather forecast for strong winds on January 27, 530 interventions have been counted, including 316 interventions due to falling trees, 107 interventions due to falling electrical poles and cables, and 88 interventions due to partial collapses of external walls.

According to the same authorities, 17 people were recorded with various injuries in each of the provinces of Algiers (7 people), Chlef (3), Mostaganem (2), Oran (2), Blida (1), Skikda (1) and Guelma (1).

In light of the continued weather forecast for strong winds, the Civil Protection Services call on all citizens to increase their level of caution, adhere to advice and instructions, and call 1021 or 14 in the event of any accidents.
