Civil protection interferes to save thousands of drowning on beaches

Civil protection services revealed that 2153 people were rescued from drowning and certain death, with 14 deaths of drowning in the sea, while 128 fires of vegetation were extinguished.

A statement of the General Directorate of Civil Protection stated, on Tuesday, that during the period between July 27 to August 2, the Civil Protection Units recorded 25205 intervention and this after receiving distress calls by citizens, these interventions included various fields of civil protection activities, whether related to traffic accidents, household accidents, health evacuation, extinguishing fires and covering the security services for various demonstrations.

The protection units for health evacuation operations carried out 14,175 intervention, where 13810 wounded and patient were evacuated to hospitals, while the same units were recorded in the context of traffic accidents 2663 intervention for 1486 traffic accidents that led to the death of 34 people and the injury of 1884 others who were treated and transferred to hospital centers, and the heaviest toll recorded in the state of Constantine 4 people died at the scene, and 104 others were injured, after 45 traffic accidents.

The Civil Protection Units also carried out 2,899 intervention that allowed 2038 fires, including industrial home and various fires, the most important of which was recorded in the state of Algeria with 261 fires, Blida 112 fires and Constantine 101 fires, while 5468 intervention were recorded in the field of various operations in order to save 461 people in danger and cover 4,782 ambulances.

On the other hand, the beaches and recreation agency made 4,861 intervention, allowing 2153 people from drowning and certain death, as well as providing first aid to 1185 people, in addition to transferring to health centers 207 people, with 14 deaths of drowning in the sea as well as 4 deaths in water complexes.

Protection units also intervened to put out 128 fire covering, including 21 forest fires, 12 jungle fire, 48 firefighting fires, 4 agricultural crop fires, 20 fruitful trees fire, 3 burning belts and 20 palm fires.
