Civil protection extinguishes fires in 10 states

Civil protection agents were able to extinguish many of the fires that broke out during the last hours, in ten states, while other fire extinguishing operations continue, by harnessing significant material and human means.

According to the results of the General School of Civil Protection, on Friday, of extinguishing the 29 forest fires that broke out during the last hours, in Tipaza, Algiers, Blida, Bejaia, Tizi Ouzou, Chlef, Medea, Ain Defla, Jijel and Tlemcen, 20 fires have been extinguished until 10 am on Friday, while civil protection agents continue to extinguish the remaining nine.

For this purpose, in addition to significant material and human capabilities, the BE200 firefighting aircraft and mobile convoys of neighboring states were used.

The Prime Minister, Seifi Gharib, traveled from Thursday night to Friday to the sites of the fires that broke out in a number of municipal forests in the western side of the state of Tipaza, to follow up on the operations to put out the flames.

Seifi assured the families residing in the “Martyr Mohamed Bouabdallah” primary school shelter center that, in accordance with the directives of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, “the state is very careful and careful not to abandon them and to take optimal care of the families and accompany them, to overcome this difficult situation caused by the fires.”

In this context, the Civil Protection Services call on citizens to be cautious and vigilant, avoid approaching fire areas, and immediately report any new hotspot, on the emergency number 14 or the green number 1021.
