Citizen service is an absolute priority in the government’s work programme

The Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Abdelhak Sayhi, highlighted on Sunday that serving the citizen is an absolute priority in the government’s work programme, stressing the modernization of the sector’s activities and the digitization of services, especially those directed to the citizen.

The Ministry’s statement stated that Sayhi chaired a coordination working session, at the Ministry’s headquarters, that included all the frameworks of the central administration. He began it by emphasizing that these periodic meetings fall within “a systematic approach aimed at following up on the implementation of the most important activities and achievements of the sector for the benefit of citizens, and discussing issues of an urgent nature that require the concerted efforts of everyone in order to provide effective and field solutions, and its fundamental goal is coordination between the sector’s structures.”

After listening to presentations made by executives on the level of implementation of various programs and measures taken to address files related to the Ministry’s jurisdiction, the Minister provided a set of instructions and directives, centered around “emphasizing that serving the citizen remains an absolute priority in the sector’s work program.”

Saihi also stressed “the necessity of strengthening coordination between the various central and decentralized structures to ensure immediate response to citizens’ concerns,” and “following up on the activities of bodies under guardianship and obliging all departments to ensure the quality of reception and handling of files with the necessary speed and effectiveness,” as well as “establishing mechanisms for evaluation and periodic follow-up of their performance to ensure the effectiveness of public service.”

The Minister stressed “the need to accelerate the pace of digitization of all services directed to citizens, and to move completely towards electronic services to reduce unnecessary movements of citizens by expanding remote services,” calling on the frameworks to “coordinate efforts with other ministerial sectors to integrate digital platforms and exchange data in real time.”

On the other hand, the Minister emphasized “careful follow-up of the pace of processing job seekers’ files, with an emphasis on accelerating procedures and intensifying mediation between young people and economic institutions,” calling on the frameworks to “activate field and neighborhood meetings with economic institutions to identify available job offers and enable young people to enter job positions that are consistent with their qualifications and specializations in a way that enhances the dynamism of the national economy.”

In the field of international cooperation, the Minister issued “strict instructions to accelerate the strengthening of bilateral cooperation with the Slovenian Rehabilitation Center, given its high experience in the field of prosthetic devices and the embodiment of a joint work plan with the Republic of Slovenia in this field, which translates the instructions of the President of the Republic related to strengthening international partnerships with a humanitarian and social dimension.”

The Minister also gave instructions that include “setting up a work program in the short and medium term” that focuses on “improving the quality of public service, total reliance on digitization, ensuring effective care for all citizens and empowering them with their legitimate rights within the framework of applicable legislation and regulation.”

In conclusion, the Minister stressed “the necessity of uniting everyone’s efforts and working in the spirit of one team in order to embody the sector’s goals and translate the state’s obligations towards citizens in the field in a tangible and rapid manner.”
