Circumcision during Ramadan.. The Ministry of Health issues a warning statement – New Algeria

She called Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital ReformAlgerian families called for the circumcision process not to be limited to the twenty-seventh night of the month of Ramadan, and also warned in this context against performing these operations outside the framework of the surgical services of public hospital institutions and private clinics across the national territory.

The Ministry stated in a statement that many Algerian families prefer to circumcise their sons within a month Ramadan Virtue. Such operations are common in hospitals and private clinics.

She also indicated that the applicable system requires that the circumcision operation be performed in a hospital setting, whether public or private, provided that it is equipped with various health conditions, and is performed by a doctor specialized in surgery.

The Ministry of Health stressed the necessity of conducting medical tests before the circumcision operation, explaining that these tests would inform the surgeon of the extent of the child’s readiness for the operation, stressing that it is strictly forbidden to perform the circumcision operation outside the framework of the surgical services of public hospital institutions and private clinics across the national territory.
