China rejects hegemony in international relations and calls for respect for the sovereignty of states – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

China stressed, on Wednesday, that no country has the right to impose its will or dominate international relations, stressing the importance of equality and mutual respect among all countries. This statement came against the backdrop of the US-Israeli attack on Iran, according to what Lu Chenjian, spokesman for the fourth session of the Fourteenth National People’s Congress of China, told Anadolu Agency.
Jian explained that China supports the principle of mutual respect between countries regardless of their size or strength. He added: “It is not permissible for any country to dominate international relations, impose its will on other countries, or determine their fate.”
Jian pointed out that China is closely following developments in the situation in Iran after the US-Israeli attacks, stressing the need to preserve Iran’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity. He also called for the necessity of stopping military operations immediately and preventing escalation, while emphasizing the importance of continuing dialogue and negotiations to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East region.
Jian stressed that China, as a responsible country, will continue its role in promoting these principles.
Since last Saturday, Israeli and American military raids on Iran have continued, leading to the killing of hundreds, including Iranian Leader Ali Khamenei and security officials. Iran responded with missile and drone attacks on Israel and some US bases in neighboring countries, resulting in casualties and damage to civilian facilities.
