“CAF” changes the date of USM’s confrontation with Safi

There has been a change in the date of USMA’s confrontation with Olympique Safi, in the second round of the group stage of the African Confederation Cup.

The USMA administration revealed that the CAF Competitions Committee had written to it regarding moving forward the date of the confrontation with the Moroccan club by forty-eight hours.

The match will be played on November 28 instead of November 30, so that international players can join their respective teams for the Arab Cup Qatar 2025.

Qatar will host the competition for the second time in a row, during the period from December 1 to 18.

Ineligible stadium

USMA does not yet know the location of its second match in the first group, due to the failure to qualify the Green Massira Stadium in Safi by “CAF”.

The stadium does not comply with the conditions booklet of the organizing committee for club competitions, forcing Al-Ittihad’s competitor to host the stadium outside the city.

In the opening round, the sons of Sostara will host the San Pedro Club of Ivory Coast on the grounds of the July 5, 1962 Olympic Stadium on November 23 at eight in the evening.

It should be noted that the African Confederation has given nine Algerian stadiums the green light to host African competitions.

A competitor is struggling domestically

Olympique Safi Club is at the bottom of the overall standings of the Moroccan Championship “Inwi”, scoring five points after eight rounds.

Safi lost in its last match on its home field, against leaders Wydad Athletic Club, by two goals to one.

For its part, San Pedro leads the Ivory League standings 10 rounds after the start of the competition.

San Pedro won seven matches, tied one and lost two, earning 22 points.
