Brazil witnessed one of the most violent matches in the history of the local leagues, when it faced the poles of Belo Horizonte, Cruzeiro and Atletico Mineiro in the Minas Gerais derby, on Sunday.
Cruzeiro decided the boycott final match, which was held at the “Governor Magalhaes Pinto” stadium, in his favor with a free goal, scored by the former Italian Juventus striker, Caio Jorge, in the 60th minute.

Total chaos in the last minutes
Atletico Mineiro goalkeeper Iverson assaulted Cruzeiro Christian striker after the latter wanted to snatch a ball that bounced off his gloves.
Iverson was surprised by a number of Cruzeiro players attacking him, and his head hit the left goal post after he was kicked from behind.
Things then got out of control, as players like veteran Givanildo Vieira de Souza, nicknamed “Hulk,” were seen in the midst of a violent clash.
The security forces were unable to break up the fight, in which they used all methods of kicking and punching, similar to scenes in mixed martial arts rings.
The former Brazilian national team striker (49 international matches) warned the young Brazilian referee, Mateus Delgado Kandakan (28 years old), in a statement he made to the newspaper “Globo” after the match.
Hulk said: “I told the referee from the beginning of the match that things would go wrong. He lacked character. If he had to send off one, two or three players,” Hulk said.
Referee Kandakan did not show any red cards during the match, but he later amended his report to award 12 red cards to Cruzeiro players and 11 to Atletico Mineiro, including one to Hulk.
