The President of the Council confirmed, during the meeting, that relations between Algeria andSlovakia Historical relations based on mutual respect and constructive cooperation, indicating that there is a great political will on the part of the leadership of the two countries to advance these relations to broader horizons.
Bugali also explained that the parliamentary exchange between the two countries is still below the desired level at the current stage, due to the absence of a friendship group at the level of the Slovak National Council, and he expressed his hope that this deficiency will be remedied, allowing a new impetus to be given to bilateral parliamentary cooperation. Recalling that the National People’s Assembly has installed more than seventy parliamentary friendship groups with parliaments across various countries of the world, within the framework of activating the role of parliamentary diplomacy.
By the way, the President of the Council indicated that Algeria, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, seeks to diversify its economy away from dependence on hydrocarbons, stressing that the Slovak economy has significant components and advantages that can form the basis for a fruitful economic partnership between the two countries.
On another level, Bogali appreciated Slovakia’s positions towards the Saharawi and Sahrawi issuesPalestinianAt the same time, he praised its support for international legitimacy and the right of peoples to self-determination.
For his part, the Slovak ambassador expressed his country’s desire to deepen parliamentary and economic cooperation between the two countries, stressing the existence of broad areas of bilateral cooperation. He also expressed his country’s interest in benefiting from Algeria’s distinctive experience during its non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council, praising the role it plays in promoting peace and security at the regional and international levels.
