Boughali confirms Algeria’s commitment to quality education

The President of the National People’s Assembly, Ibrahim Boughali, stressed that education represents an essential pillar for building a knowledge society and achieving sustainable development, stressing the necessity of investing in Algerian schools to ensure a better future for the rising generations, on the occasion of World Education Day, which falls on January 24 of each year.

Bougali said, in a tweet on his personal account, that “Education is the foundation of building a knowledge society and consolidating the nation’s footing on the path of progress and advancement. On the occasion of World Education Day, Algeria renews its commitment to ensuring quality education for all, embodying the vision of the President of the Republic, who placed education at the top of the pyramid of public policy priorities.”

The President of the National People’s Assembly added that ensuring the quality of education is at the top of the pyramid of national policy priorities, which indicates the efforts made to develop the educational system and empower young people with the necessary skills and knowledge, as an embodiment of the President of the Republic’s vision of building a renewed and advanced Algeria.

During the year 2025, the national education sector in Algeria witnessed radical and comprehensive transformations represented in profound structural reforms that included educational curricula, study programs and administrative organization, within the framework of a strategic vision aimed at improving the quality of education and keeping pace with global developments in the educational field.

These reforms came after in-depth studies conducted by the National Commission for the Quality of Education and under the direct guidance of the Minister of National Education, Mohamed Saghir Saadawi, who stressed on more than one occasion that the current stage constitutes a decisive turning point in the history of the Algerian educational system. School entry for the 2025/2026 season began on September 21 last in all educational institutions, in an atmosphere characterized by tight organization and advance preparations made by the education directorates in the states.

This school entry was different from previous years, as it was accompanied by extensive awareness campaigns about the new changes in the curricula and academic programs, in addition to strengthening the digital infrastructure in many educational institutions, within the digital transformation project adopted by the Ministry as one of the basic axes of comprehensive educational reform.
