Bouamama praises the efforts of electronic media sites to serve the nation

On Tuesday, at the ministry’s headquarters, the Minister of Communication, Zouhair Bouamama, supervised a working meeting with a number of officials from accredited electronic media sites, highlighting the responsibility of electronic media in contributing to building a strong, cohesive media system.

This meeting comes as an extension of previous meetings supervised by the Minister with officials of the national media in its various branches, with the aim of opening channels of dialogue with actors in the sector, listening to their professional concerns, and discussing with them a number of related issues.

During the meeting, Minister Bouamama expressed his appreciation and pride in the tremendous work carried out by electronic media sites in order to defend the nation, and to highlight the efforts undertaken by state institutions in support of development in various fields, calling on them to accompany the large projects being implemented to strengthen Algeria’s position at the regional and international levels, and to push its economy towards broader horizons.

The attendees appreciated the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, accompanying the electronic press in Algeria, through which he enacted laws that allowed for its regulation, and provided financial support to maintain the sustainability of these media institutions.

The meeting was also an opportunity to praise the great roles played by the national media in the battle of awareness that Algeria is waging from a position of strength, armed with the awareness of its people who support its state institutions against the systematic campaigns the country is being exposed to that are being conducted outside its borders in a desperate attempt to influence its internal front.

At the end of the meeting, the Minister stressed the responsibility that falls on the electronic media to contribute to building a strong, cohesive media system that enables Algerians to obtain reliable information in a timely manner, and works effectively with the aim of confronting disinformation discourses and false news, and confronting them with objective data, to protect collective awareness, and to consolidate society’s immunity against the plans of disinformation labs.
