Boualia scores a global goal against Esperance and Simba

Algerian striker Kassila Boualia, a professional at the Tunisian club Esperance Sportive Club, scored a wonderful goal against Tanzania’s Simba.

The two teams met, on Sunday evening, in the Tanzanian capital, Dar es Salaam, at the KMC Stadium, in the fourth round of the group stage of the African Champions League.

Esperance of Tunisia trailed by two unanswered goals during the first half, scored by Shoumari Kapombe and Youssef Kagouma in the 39th and 45th minutes.

Tunisian coach Maher El Kenzari moved to make changes to the lineup, bringing in Kasila Boualia at the start of the second half.

The former JS Kabylie right winger was replaced by his Burkinabe colleague Jacques Diarra.

The Tunisian club was able to reduce the difference through player Boubacar Diakite in the 64th minute, restoring hopes in the hearts of its supporters.

The visitors put pressure after this goal, and Boualia succeeded with a powerful shot towards the far post 11 minutes before the end of normal time to equalize.

International defender Hamza Al-Jalasi wasted the opportunity to give his team the three points when he missed a penalty kick in the 93rd minute.

Esperance won six points after four matches, occupying second place in Group Four behind Stade de la Financial (8 points).

Rwanda’s Petro Atletico comes in third place with five points, while Smeba is in last place with one point.

Esperance will travel to Bamako next week, where it will clash with the Malian club before hosting Petro Atletico in Tunisia, on February 13.

This evening, Kasila Boualia played his sixth match with Tunisian Esperance in the African Champions League.

The striker managed to score two goals in the continental competition, after six starting appearances.

On the contrary, the 24-year-old was able to score four goals during five starts in 14 matches for the Tunisian League.
