The President of the Arab Parliamentary Union and the President of the National People’s Assembly, Ibrahim Boghali, condemned in the strongest terms the cowardly terrorist crime that targeted the Imam Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque in the Wadi al-Dhahab neighborhood in the city of Homs during Friday prayers, resulting in the martyrdom of a number of righteous worshipers and the injury of others.
Boghali stressed, according to the Union’s statement on Monday, that this despicable criminal act represents a blatant assault on Islamic sanctities and on the values of humanity and morals, and comes within the framework of desperate attempts to incite sectarian strife and spread chaos among the brotherly Syrian people.
Boghali stressed that the Union stands firmly with the Syrian people and government in confronting terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, calling on the international community to take decisive measures to combat the promotion of terrorism.
