Bin Jama: There is no stability in the Middle East without ending the Zionist occupation – Algerian dialogue

The permanent representative of Algeria to the United Nations, Ammar bin Jameh, confirmed that the UN Security Council resolution to extend the United Nations Provisional State of Lebanon (UNIFIL) until December 31, 2026 opens the way for a new stage for Lebanon and the region, but peace and stability “will remain long -term unless the Zionist occupation of Arab lands ends.”

Bin Jameh explained, after the approval of Resolution 2790, that its implementation “must be comprehensive and non -selective,” calling for the treatment of all obligations, especially those that the Zionist entity continues to ignore. He also stressed the need for the Security Council to remain ready to reconsider the decision, according to field developments and reports submitted by the Secretary -General of the United Nations.

The Algerian diplomat indicated that his country believes that peacekeeping missions should be based on the approval of the host state and based on the facts on the ground, stressing that “UNIFIL” played a pivotal role in reducing tensions and supporting the stopping of hostilities, which contributed to enhancing regional stability and enabling the Lebanese army to deploy in the south.

Bin Jameh praised the commitment of the Lebanese authorities for its sovereignty over its entire lands, recalling that the “UNIFIL”, which was founded in 1978, entrusted with it the task of monitoring the withdrawal of the Zionist occupation from Lebanon, and the support of the government in extending its authority, which are the goals that are still the essence of its mandate.

In this context, the Algerian delegate asked whether the mission had accomplished its full duties, to answer: “The answer is clear, as long as the Lebanese lands are still occupied.” He called on the international community to continue Lebanon’s support to achieve security and stability.

Bin Jameh concluded by certainly that the absence of a final solution to end the Zionist occupation of Arab lands will make “peace in the Middle East a long -standing target.”
