Belghali returns to training again

The Italian club Hellas Verona revealed on its website, on Tuesday, the return of Algerian international player Rafik Belghali to training.

Belghali participated in part of the training conducted by the players, today, at the team center in the city of Castel Nuevo dal Garda in the Veneta province in northern Italy.

Hellas Verona will prepare to face Parma at the Ennio Tardini Stadium in Parma, in the 25th round of the Italian League, next Sunday.

Belghali has been absent from his club since traveling to Algeria to prepare for the African Cup of Nations, which Morocco hosted in late December until mid-January.

The right-back was unable to participate in nine matches, five of which were due to an ankle injury since his return from Morocco after the Greens were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the continental competition against Nigeria.

It is expected that the player’s return to the field will be postponed for an additional week, as he needs some time to regain his physical fitness.

Belgali is one of the pillars of the Hellas Verona squad, which is struggling to avoid falling to Serie B this season.

The club’s management fired coach Paolo Zanetti, the previous week, due to poor results.

“Giallo Blue” was unable to achieve victory in the last nine matches, recording six defeats and three draws.

The team fell to last place in the general standings, after only gaining 15 points.

Verona has won two matches since the beginning of the season, against Atalanta at home in Week 14 and then against Fiorentina in Florence, the following week.

For his part, Algerian Rafik Belghali has registered his presence in 15 matches since his transfer from the Belgian club Michelin last September.
