The matter concerns Abdullah Al-Eidani (22 years old), active in the Italian team Modena, Malvin Mastel, 25 years old (Nyon, Switzerland), and Kilian Belazouk (19 years old), who plays with the reserve team of the French club Rennes.
The three targeted goalkeepers, followed by Vladimir Petkovic, are distinguished by their great height, as the shortest of them is not less than one meter and 94 centimetres, while the height of the main goalkeeper, Luca Zidane, does not exceed one meter and 83 centimetres.
A decision came Vladimir Petkovic decided to take action regarding the goalkeeper file, in light of the retirement of Osama Bin Bout on the international scene, and the lack of conviction in the qualifications of the third goalkeeper, Anthony Mandria.
The national football team is preparing to participate in the 2026 World Cup finals, scheduled for next summer in the United States, Mexico and Canada. Coach Vladimir Petkovic has only two periods to play preparation matches in anticipation of the big international date, the first at the end of next March, and the second at the end of May and the beginning of June of this year.
It is worth noting that Algeria will compete in the 2026 World Cup finals, in Group H, along with Argentina, Jordan and Austria. The Greens will begin the competition on June 17, facing the Argentine national team at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, USA.
