
The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, received the Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the sisterly Republic of South Africa, Alvin Potts, at the Ministry’s headquarters, according to a Ministry statement, today, Thursday.
Alvin Potts arrived in Algeria on an official visit that falls mainly within the framework of representing his country in the work of the twelfth session of the High-Level Symposium on Peace and Security in Africa “Oran Track”, held in Algeria on December 1 and 2, 2025.
According to the same statement, during the talks that brought them together, the two parties expressed their satisfaction with the increasing pace of cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries, especially in the context of embodying the outcomes of the last session of the Joint Higher Committee, which met in Algeria under the joint presidency of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his brother, the President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa.
In the same context, the two parties noted the harmony and conformity of the positions of the two countries towards just issues at the continental and international levels, in particular the Palestinian issue and the Western Sahara issue, as they renewed the two countries’ adherence to the relevant international legitimacy resolutions and to the established international doctrine in the field of decolonization.
