Atf discusses his Iranian counterpart in Istanbul – New Algeria

Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Ataf held a bilateral meeting today, Sunday, with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqji in Istanbul, where they discussed the continuous aggression on Iran and its effects on peace and security in the Middle East

The meeting, in which Atf renewed the emphasis on Algeria’s commitment, as a non -permanent member of the Security Council, to work to enhance the political and peaceful approach that is based on international legitimacy and the United Nations Charter, with the aim of avoiding more tensions and tragedies in the region.

The two ministers also discussed the continuous aggression against Iran and its repercussions on peace and security in the Middle East.

Ataf affirmed Algeria’s commitment to work to strengthen the political and peaceful approach in the region.

The meeting stressed the importance of adhering to international legitimacy and the United Nations Charter to avoid more tensions and tragedies.

Relations between Algeria and Iran are due to a long time, as the two parties agreed to restore diplomatic relations and open embassies in 2023.

The two countries seek to enhance bilateral relations in various fields, including policy and economics.
