Army Magazine: Gara Jbeilat is a historic national achievement – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The Army Magazine confirmed, in its latest issue, that Algeria achieved, during the month of February, a prominent strategic national achievement, following the official announcement by the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defense, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, about the launch of the exploitation of the western mining railway line Bashar-Tindouf-Gara Jbeilat, extending over a distance of 950 kilometers, and giving the signal for the start of the first train to transport iron ore from the Gara Jbeilat mine towards Oran, passing through Bechar.
The magazine highlighted that this giant project constitutes a pivotal step in the process of realizing a long-awaited national dream, and reflects the state’s direction towards building an economy free from dependence on hydrocarbons, based on the valorization of mining wealth and reliance on one’s own capabilities and national competencies, inspired by the spirit of our ancestors in confronting colonialism.
In the same context, Army Magazine pointed out that Algeria was recently supported by two new satellites, “Alsat-3” and “Alsat-3B,” as part of the state’s efforts to control space technologies and develop the geospatial information system, considering these gains as a qualitative addition that enhances national sovereignty in strategic areas.
The magazine touched on the coincidence of these achievements with Algeria’s commemoration of several historical occasions during the month of February, such as the National Martyr’s Day, and the commemoration of the Saqia Sidi Youssef massacre, which confirmed the depth of solidarity and cohesion between the Algerian and Tunisian peoples, and revealed the brutality of French colonialism and its crimes, including nuclear explosions in the Algerian desert in 1960.
It also recalled pivotal milestones in the path of the national state, including the establishment of the General Union of Algerian Workers, the nationalization of fuel, and the recovery of the Mers-el-Kébir naval base, in addition to commemorating the National Day of Brotherhood and Cohesion between the people and their army, as milestones for consolidating sovereignty and building the independent state.
The Army Magazine concluded that recalling these occasions represents a tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs, and a source of inspiration to continue the path of national construction, in light of the current transformations that Algeria is experiencing within its renaissance project aimed at strengthening sovereignty and achieving sustainable development.
