Arkab discusses ways of cooperation with a Saudi company – New Algeria

The Minister of State received, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed ArkabTurki bin Saeed Al-Omari, CEO of the Saudi Abunayyan Holding Company, to discuss cooperation and investment opportunities in the field Seawater desalination and associated infrastructure.

By the way, the two parties discussed ways for experienced companies to contribute to the completion of the strategic projects launched by Algeria to enhance its water security, in light of the distinguished relations of friendship and brotherhood that unites Algeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Arqab presented – according to Statement by the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Mines-A presentation on the broad outlines of the national seawater desalination program, which is being implemented based on the directives of the President of the Republic, which aims to establish new seawater desalination plants, with the aim of covering about 62 percent of the national needs for drinking water.

In this context, the experience of Wetico Company, affiliated with the Abunayan Holding Group, was also recalled, which had previously participated in the completion of a number of seawater desalination plants in Algeria, in Bejaia, El Tarf and Cap Jannat.

While the CEO of Abunayyan Holding Company confirmed the group’s interest in strengthening its industrial presence in Algeria, announcing his desire to localize the manufacture of equipment and supplies used in the field of seawater desalination.
