The Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, held discussions in Doha with the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources in charge of Gas in Federal Nigeria, Ekperekebe Ekpo, in the presence of the Algerian Ambassador to the State of Qatar and a number of sector executives from both sides.
The meeting discussed bilateral cooperation relations in the field of hydrocarbons and joint investment opportunities.
Especially in gas exploration and production projects, petrochemistry, transportation and marketing of natural gas, in addition to exchanging expertise and experiences in the oil and gas industry.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss the progress of the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline project.
The Nigerian Minister renewed his country’s commitment to implementing this strategic project, which is considered a pillar for enhancing energy supplies to global markets.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two parties stressed the importance of coordination between African countries within the framework of the African Petroleum Producing Countries Organization (APPO).
In order to ensure optimal exploitation of natural resources and achieve continental energy security.
