Approval of the amended and supplementary text of the law relating to the regional organization of the country – New Algeria

Sadiq Nawab National People’s Assemblyin a public session on Monday, March 9, 2026, on the amended and supplementary text of Law No. 84-09, relating to the regional organization of the country, in the presence of the Minister of Interior, Local Communities and Transport, Said Saioud, in his capacity as Minister of Relations with Parliament, Najiba Djilali, and members of the government.

Yato Ben Salem, rapporteur of the Committee on Legal and Administrative Affairs, Freedoms and Human Rights, stressed in the supplementary report the great importance of the issue of the country’s regional organization, as it is a sovereign choice and one of the essential foundations for building a modern state that is strong with its institutions, balanced in its development, harmonious in its administrative structures, and capable of responding to the aspirations of citizens in various parts of the country, through upgrading 11 administrative provinces to states with full powers, in a way that supports balanced development, and This is in implementation of decisions presidentaimed at correcting regional imbalances.

During his presentation, Bin Yato praised the level of responsible and constructive discussion that accompanied the study of this text, whether at the committee level or in the public session, for the consistency of its provisions with the Constitution, their integration with the relevant legislative system, and the clarity of its purposes and objectives.
