Algerian midfielder Houssem Aouar scored the first goal for his Saudi team Al-Ittihad against Al-Sadd of Qatar, at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in Doha.
The two teams faced off on Tuesday evening in the eighth round of the elite AFC Champions League.
Awar followed a ball that bounced off goalkeeper Mishal Barshim in the ninth minute, and shot strongly towards the far corner.

Saudi Al-Ittihad leads its host by three goals to one in the first half.
Aouar raised his individual tally to six goals in the continental competition, sharing with his teammate in the first national team, Adel Boulbena, the Qatari Al-Duhail striker, the top scorer.
Hossam was absent from the 35th edition of the African Cup of Nations due to injury. In six out of eight matches in the AFC Champions League.
The Desert Warrior excelled against the Iraqi Police in Baghdad, for the third round, where he scored a brace to lead Al-Ittihad to achieve its first victory after two defeats in the first and second weeks against Al-Wahda and Shabab Al-Ahly of the Emirates.
He also shined in the previous match against Al-Gharafa of Qatar, in which Al-Ittihad defeated its guest with seven goals, from which Aouar scored three goals and provided an assist.
Al-Ittihad secured its qualification to the round of 16 of the AFC Elite Champions League, where it ranks third in the general ranking table.
Saudi clubs have dominated the competition recently, as Al Hilal, the record holder in the number of crowns (4), leads the rankings.
Al-Hilal is followed by its compatriot Al-Ahly, the defending champion, led by its Algerian star, Riyad Mahrez, as the club scored 17 points after eight rounds.
