An initiative to promote the Algerian destination during the summer season – Algerian Dialogue

Yesterday, Monday, in Algiers, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts, and with the involvement of actors in the tourism sector, the Algerian Economic Renewal Council launched a special initiative for the 2024 summer season, aiming to promote the Algerian tourist destination, by providing offers for the benefit of Algerian families, expatriates, and even foreigners, at competitive prices.

This initiative was launched through a cooperation agreement signed by the President of the Council, Kamal Mawla, the Director General of the National Office of Tourism, Saliha Nasser Bey, the Director General of the Algerian National Office of Tourism, Taher Arezki, the President and Director General of the Hotel, Tourism and Mineral Baths Complex, Ammar Galati. , President and General Manager of the Investment Company for Hotels, Ismail Shaalal, as well as Secretary-General of the National Federation for Hotels and Tourism, Adel Hanouda.

The signing ceremony of this agreement, which comes within the framework of continuing the initiatives launched by the Council under the slogan “Economically Patriotic and Socially United,” took place in the presence of the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Mokhtar Didouche, and the Minister of Communication, Mohamed Laqab.

In his intervention on the occasion, Mr. Didouch highlighted the importance of this initiative, which bears the slogan “This summer in Algeria, meet your soul.” He emphasized the necessity of mobilizing to make it successful, highlighting that Algeria has become one of the popular tourist destinations, according to indicators of domestic tourism and the influx of foreign tourists.

In a related context, he stated that his ministerial department took the initiative to allocate real estate containers at the level of tourism expansion areas, to construct seasonal tourist structures, with the aim of increasing the accommodation capacity at the level of coastal areas.

For his part, Mr. Mawla stressed in his intervention that “the signing of this agreement came after consultations with the most prominent players in the tourism sector,” pointing out that its goal is to preserve the purchasing power of Algerian families, by providing “attractive” prices in hotels, as well as enabling them to , in addition to the national community residing abroad, as well as foreigners, from discovering the tourist heritage of Algeria.

He pointed out that this initiative includes 1,600 hotels, tourist complexes, and entertainment parks, and that joining it “will remain open to all actors in the tourism sector,” stressing that with concerted efforts, “we can transform Algeria into a tourist destination.”

As for Mrs. Nasser Bey, she mentioned in her intervention that the National Tourism Office has updated its portal (visitalgeria), to facilitate the process of accessing all promotional offers and tourist itineraries, highlighting that this initiative will allow adopting a new approach in organizing summer seasons.

For his part, Mr. Qalati mentioned in his intervention that the hotel, tourism and mineral baths complex has taken several measures to make this initiative a success, such as free beaches located adjacent to the complex, reducing prices, as well as reducing the duration of reservations to 10 days at most, “so that there is no monopoly.”

In a related context, Mr. Shaalal announced that the Investment Hotel Company has opened 40 points of sale across the company’s structures, through which it provides a variety of hospitality, catering, and recreation services, as well as many cultural activities, pointing out that a number of “tempting offers” will be placed on… National Tourism Office portal level.

In his intervention, Mr. Arezki considered that the Algerian National Tourism Office, for its part, allocated several offers and programs at the level of tourist areas in the coastal strip, and also hired buses to transport vacationers to and from the beaches “at nominal prices.”

As for Mr. Hanouda, he stressed that the initiative launched today “will give an impetus to the tourism sector,” stressing the work of the National Federation for Hotels and Tourism to make it a success.

For reference, various promotional offers for hotels and tourist complexes can be viewed through the National Tourism Office portal, provided that the list of offers will be updated during the coming days, according to the explanations provided during the signing ceremony.
