Algerian international player Mohamed El Amin Amoura surpassed Egyptian star Mohamed Salah in the struggle for the symbolic title of top scorer in the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ammoura added two new goals to his score, on this occasion Winning What the Algerian national football team achieved, over its Ugandan guest (2-1), yesterday evening, Tuesday, at the “Hussein Ait Ahmed” stadium in the city of Tizi Ouzou, for the tenth and final round of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
Mohamed Al-Amin Ammoura raised his score to 10 goals. After his humble start in the qualifying campaign, he did not score in the first four matches that the national team played, during which he was limited to two assists. This was before he exploded last March, scoring 5 full goals, two goals against Botswana, and a hat-trick against the Mozambique national team.
The German club Wolfsburg star continued his brilliance last September, with one goal against Botswana, and then this October, with two goals against Somalia, and two more against Uganda.
Ammoura topped the list of top scorers in the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, ahead of Egyptian Mohamed Salah, the English Liverpool FC star, who scored 9 goals, and Gabonese Denis Mwanga (8 goals).

It is noteworthy that Mohamed Lamine Amoura, 25 years old, scored 18 goals in 37 matches during his career with the Algerian national team.
