Allocating 1,470 billion dinars to the Ramadan grant

The Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Issues, Soria Moulouji, announced the allocation of a financial envelope worth 1,470 billion Algerian dinars to support the Ramadan grant, within the framework of a comprehensive national program aimed at alleviating the burdens on needy families during the holy month.

In her statement, the Minister explained that the process includes issuing about 2,200 licenses to open breakfast restaurants in various states, in coordination with local groups, with the aim of ensuring the provision of hot meals to those who are fasting and those on the way, in addition to strengthening social solidarity. More than 300 neighborhood field cells will also be allocated to contribute to the national campaign to raise awareness of the importance of rationalizing food consumption during Ramadan, in order to reduce waste and ensure that the largest number of needy families benefit. The Minister stressed the inclusion of productive families in the markets. Ramadan Jawariya, where more than 900 families participate this year, to market their products and support their local economies.

At the level of religious and educational activities, Moulouji confirmed the preparation for the fourth edition of the national competition for memorizing and memorizing the Holy Qur’an for the benefit of people of determination and vulnerable children, in cooperation with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and public television, to enhance the cultural and spiritual dimension of the holy month of Ramadan.

In the same context, the Governor of Algiers, Mohamed Abdel Nour Rabhi, revealed the allocation of an additional financial support of more than 417 million dinars for the benefit of more than 41,500 needy families in the capital, with the subsidies being transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries before the beginning of Ramadan, to ensure that the holy month is welcomed in the best conditions. The grant targets families that meet the conditions of Article 6 of Executive Decree No. 25-86 of February 22, 2025. Which includes spouses without any income or those with a net monthly income less than or equal to 20,000 dinars, with proof of their unstable social situation through field investigations, to ensure that support reaches those who are eligible.

The Ministry of Solidarity called on all beneficiaries of the Solidarity Grant for the year 2025 to renew their applications to ensure benefit from the Ramadan 2026 grant, stressing continued cooperation with local sectors to enhance the atmosphere of social solidarity and spread the culture of solidarity in the various states of the country.
