This came in a statement by the Metropolitan Police, on Tuesday, which confirmed that “after overthrowing a criminal group specialized in promoting hard drugs, the mobile squad of the Ouled Fayet Judicial Police was able to seize 700 grams of cocaine and prohibited bladed weapons.”
The statement explained, “Within the framework of combating crimes related to the illicit trade in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, the security services of the state of Algiers, represented by the mobile division of the Oulad Fayet judicial police for the security of the Sharqa administrative district, were able last week to paralyze the activity of a criminal network consisting of (09) people and seize (700) grams of hard drugs, cocaine, and banned bladed weapons.”
The same source indicated that this operation was carried out after extensive field investigations that enabled investigators to uncover the activity of a criminal network specialized in illicit trafficking in hard drugs and psychotropic substances, so that its members were identified and arrested successively, with the seizure of this quantity of toxins hidden inside the residence of one of the suspects.
The same statement confirmed that the operation, which was carried out under the supervision of the regional prosecution, led to the seizure of: 700 grams of hard drugs cocaine, 40 psychotropic tablets, 13 million 530 thousand centimes of revenues from the promotion of poisons, 7 banned bladed weapons of different types and sizes, an electric taser, a ship alarm (Signal), fireworks, an electronic scale, two vehicles and a motorcycle that were used to transport poisons.
In conclusion, the Metropolitan Police statement confirmed that the suspects were presented before the Public Prosecutor at the Sharaga Court, according to a criminal procedure file.
