Hamzawi explained in a statement to the press on the sidelines of the Scout Forum activities that the Islamic Scouts “will begin distributing 10,000 food parcels to needy families on Tuesday,” pointing out that this process “will continue throughout the month of Ramadan, bringing the total number of food parcels scheduled to be distributed to 100,000 food parcels.”
He added that this operation falls within the solidarity activities of the Algerian Islamic Scouts during the holy month, including opening iftar restaurants to provide meals for fasting people, distributing food parcels, organizing awareness-raising campaigns, and cultural and religious activities.
The solidarity operation also includes – Hamzawi adds – providing hot meals to passers-by and the needy at approximately 700 Iftar restaurants during Ramadan, noting that the number of volunteers and supervisors involved in the various solidarity activities organized by the Scouts during the month Ramadan Al-Fadil has more than 80,000 members from various scout regiments.
The same official considered that the Algerian Islamic Scouts aims, through these solidarity initiatives, to “consolidate the values of social solidarity and enhance the spirit of solidarity, cooperation and brotherhood among Algerian society, which is known for its strong traditions in this field.”
He pointed out that on this occasion, cultural activities and religious competitions will also be organized in coordination with local authorities and state directorates of the relevant sectors.
