Algeria raises its oil production by 11 thousand barrels per day during the month of September – Algerian dialogue

Today, Sunday, Algeria participated, through the technique of visual lecture, in a ministerial meeting that included eight countries from the “OPEC+” group, which since the month of April 2023, the implementation of voluntary amendments to their production of crude oil.

The representatives of Algeria participated in the meeting, along with the ministers of energy and oil for: Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, the Sultanate of Oman, and the Russian Federation.

The work of this meeting centered on studying the current situation of the international oil market, and its outlook in the short term, as well as assessing the extent of respect for the obligations related to voluntary discounts at production levels, including mechanisms for compensating excessive quantities produced.

At the end of the deliberations, it was decided to adopt a collective increase in the production of the eight participating countries, estimated at 547 thousand barrels per day during the month of September 2025. Algeria’s contribution to this amendment is translated through an increase of 11 thousand barrels per day starting from the same month.

The participating ministers also agreed to maintain a high level of coordination and consultation by holding regular monthly meetings, in order to follow the market developments closely, ensure full commitment to voluntary pledges, as well as monitoring the application of agreed compensation mechanisms. The date of September 7, 2025 was determined to hold the next ministerial meeting.
