Algeria leads the work of the Audit Committee of the World Customs Organization – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Algeria chaired the twentieth session of the Audit Committee ofWorld Customs Organizationheld on February 16 and 17, 2026 at the organization’s headquarters in Brusselsdedicated to studying internal and external audit reports and enhancing governance mechanisms and compliance with international standards in financial and institutional management.

A statement by the Algerian General Directorate of Customs, issued today, Wednesday, explained that Algeria is chairing this session for the second time in a row, in a new confirmation of the confidence it enjoys within the organization’s structures, and its advanced position in supporting the principles of transparency, good governance, and modernizing control systems.

This presidency – according to the same source – reflects the growing role of Algeria as an effective and reliable partner in developing multilateral customs work and enhancing international cooperation in the customs field, in line with global standards and approved best practices.
