At the beginning of 2026, gold prices recorded a slight increase after reaching their lowest level in two weeks. On the other hand, the rest of the precious metals compensated for part of the losses they incurred during the past week.
Spot gold rose 0.8 percent, reaching $4,346.69 per ounce. US gold futures, for delivery next February, also rose by 0.5 percent to $4,360.60 per ounce.
As for other precious metals, silver rose in spot transactions by 2.1 percent to reach $72.75 per ounce.
Platinum also rose by 0.2 percent, reaching $2,057.74 per ounce, while palladium rose by 2.4 percent, recording $1,642.90 per ounce.
