Algeria is expanding its air network internally and moving toward modernization

The authorities in Algeria have strengthened their efforts to develop national air transport through a broad program aimed at connecting the various states of the country and improving airline services domestically and internationally.
Launching an expanded network of domestic flights
In implementation of presidential directives, the authorities are working to support Domestic Airlines to expand the domestic flight network and connect isolated states with major centers.
This trend comes within the framework of a vision that aims to achieve balanced development and improve transportation conditions, especially in the southern states, which have been suffering for years from poor land connectivity.
On the other hand, the company announced a regular weekly flight program that includes:
The Tamanrasset – Bordj Badji Mokhtar line operates every Friday, back and forth.
Operating the Constantine – Illizi line every Saturday and Wednesday.
The Tamanrasset – Djanet line is open every Monday.
Operating the Algiers-Djanet line every Wednesday.
Operating the Bashar – Oran line every Sunday.
Operating the Algeria – Bashar line every Sunday and Wednesday.
These new lines contribute to strengthening the connectivity between the cities of the south and transforming them into more active and mobile spaces, while linking them directly to major cities such as the capital and Oran.
Receiving the first plane A330neo: A new step for Algerian aviation
In parallel with this internal development, Air Algerie is witnessing qualitative progress after receiving the first Airbus A330neo aircraft at Houari Boumediene International Airport, as part of a broad modernization program for its fleet.
The plane bears the name “November 54” and has 308 seats, and its first commercial operation will begin towards Montreal next Saturday.
The reception ceremony was attended by the Minister of the Interior, Local Communities and Transport, Said Saioud, along with customs officials, the General Union of Algerian Workers, and the company’s management.
Strengthening international presence and modernizing infrastructure
For his part, Minister Said Saioud stresses that this step represents the beginning of the implementation of a comprehensive vision to develop air transport and enhance Algeria’s position internationally, and confirms that the new aircraft will allow the expansion of destinations towards Africa, the Arab world and international capitals, while improving the quality of services and raising competitiveness.
The Minister reveals the imminent launch of a huge project to modernize Algiers Airport and transform it into a “smart airport” that keeps pace with international standards and is compatible with modern digitization.
For his part, the President and General Manager of the company, Hamza bin Hamouda, considers that receiving the plane represents a qualitative development in the company’s performance, and it comes in the month of November, which reflects historical symbolism and national importance.
With these steps, Algeria combines the development of domestic connectivity and the strengthening of its international air presence, in a path that indicates a new, more modern and effective phase in the national aviation sector.
