Assure Prosecutor ProsecutorThe Minister of Industry, Saifi Gharib, yesterday, Friday, that Algeria is eligible to be a regional platform for manufacturing and distribution, especially with regard to the auto industry, a space for industrial integration, and a bridge of African inter -cooperation.
In a speech delivered on his behalf by the Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Waseem Qwaidri, during a high -level round ministerial table under the title “The advancement of the African continental free trade area in the sector Cars Through trade, industry and continental leadership, “it was organized at the International Conference Center” Abdel -Taif Rahal “, within the framework of the African -African Trade Exhibition, Gharib stressed that the vehicle industry is not just a local economic sector, but rather a locomotive of African integration.
From this standpoint, Algeria, by virtue of its strategic location as a gate between Africa and Europe, and its modern infrastructure “is eligible to be a regional platform for manufacturing and distribution and a space for industrial integration, and a bridge of African-African cooperation”, says Prime Minister Acting.
Gharib added that Algeria, by hosting itAfrican inter -trade exhibition “It seeks to be an active partner in making the future of vehicles in Africa in a way that enhances the independence of the economic decision, and gives their peoples new opportunities for growth and prosperity.”
He stressed that the exhibition is a suitable space to conclude fruitful partnerships and a starting point towards building an integrated African industry, competitive and sustainable.
Gharib pointed out in the same context, that the organization of this event in Algeria “is not just a circumstantial gain, but rather a strategic choice that reflects the fixed will of our country in making the industry, especially the vehicle industry, a lever for economic diversification and an essential engines for African integration, and a promising field to build regional and international partnerships based on joint benefit, transfer of technology and the creation of added value.”
And he lacked to talk about Algeria’s multiple attempts in a past period to establish the vehicle industry, “but it remained trapped in limited value -added installation patterns,” highlighting “the new vision approved today, based on directives presidentAbdul Majeed Taboun, whose clear goals are the construction of a real industry for vehicles based on the integration of value chains by developing a strong base for the spare parts industry.
It also aims to “diversify Industrial partners With openness to African and international companies, the qualification of local suppliers, and the enabling of small and medium enterprises to play a pivotal role, ”the Prime Minister adds.
This exhibition constitutes, according to Gharib, an opportunity to launch joint initiatives between African countries in the areas of developing regional value chains and enhancing industrial integration through commercial and investment agreements, and supporting training and scientific research in the field of vehicles and spare parts.
For his part, the Secretary -General of the African Free Trade Zone, and Amekili Mini, considered that the meeting constitutes a favorable opportunity for the participating countries in order to stand on the strengths and weaknesses in the industrial field, especially vehicles, in order to advance it in light of the availability of the necessary material human capabilities and a promising market.
As for the Executive Vice President of the African Export and Import Bank, it was utensils, indicating the importance of such meetings to find ways to achieve the desired economic and industrial renaissance, especially those related to financing.
The meeting was known to attend the President’s Director General of the Sonatrach Complex, Rashid Hashishi, President of the National Union of Public Contractors, Sharaf Al -Din Amara, a number of tires and officials of economic institutions, in addition to the ministers of trade and industry and representatives from African countries.
On the other hand, in a statement to the press, on the sidelines of the exhibition’s activities, the head of the Algerian Economic Economic Renewal Council, Kamal Mawla, considered that the African continent is in urgent need to enhance commercial dealings with each other, noting that more than 800 billion dollars as a value for importing in the continent benefits foreigners instead of Africans themselves.
He stressed that many African economic dealers expressed wide interest in Algerian products, recalling the strong message that the President of the Republic sent during his supervision yesterday the opening of the fourth session of the exhibition, and calling for the African unit in order to raise the volume of inter -exchanges and develop the business number within the continent instead of relying on the outside.
He considered that the Algerian experience in supporting the local product can be embodied at the level to allow the support and value of the African product.
