In her speech during the opening of the works of the training session organized by the Department of Political Affairs, Peace and Security Department of the African Union Commission, in coordination with the Independent National Elections Authority, the State writer to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of African Affairs, Salama Bakhta Mansouri, confirmed on Monday in the capital that Algeria’s firm commitment to the values of adult rule and democracy is evident today in its continental leadership.
Mansouri added that Algeria has constantly demonstrated its willingness to support the principles of rational governance and democratic accountability, highlighting that its firm commitment in this field is evident today in its continental leadership, and indicated in this regard that the President of the Republic, Abdel Majid Taboun, has been taking over since February 2024, the presidency of the Forum of Heads of the African State of the African Mechanism for Evaluation by the Laws, which is the supreme decision -making body in this mechanism.
It also stressed that Algeria is still convinced that the electoral processes are the pillars of democratic rule, peace and stability, noting that this is reflected in its national reform and its active involvement in the CAF governance mechanisms.
By hosting this workshop – Mansouri adds – “Algeria does not only want to provide space for meditation and training, but also to reaffirm the centralization of the elections in building Africa to which its citizens aspire.”
