
Algeria continues to enhance its health security, as the “Saidal” complex and the “Madar” holding company entered into a partnership agreement to create a stem cell therapy clinic, which will be the first of its kind in Africa and the Middle East region.
The Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Wassim Qwaidri, stressed during the signing ceremony, according to a statement by the Ministry, that this project falls within the framework of implementing the directives of the President of the Republic, Abdul Majeed Taboun, who pays special attention to achieving health security in the country, by providing advanced treatments for all citizens.
The same spokesman also pointed out that this initiative is the result of scientific cooperation between the “Sidal” complex and a number of specialized research laboratories, aimed at effectively sponsoring several chronic and incurable diseases such as heart disease, blood, eyes, respiratory system, nervous system, in addition to different types of cancer, through stem and immunological cell therapy techniques.
The minister also highlighted that this strategic project would establish Algeria’s position as a regional pioneer in this serious medical field, by employing internationally recognized Algerian competencies, and enhancing coordination with several partner sectors, including health, work, employment, and social security sectors.
On the other hand, the Minister of Industry, Dr. Seifi Gharib, stressed that the establishment of a specialized sanatorium for stem cell medication and the treatment of immune diseases is a qualitative and pioneering step in developing the health sector in Algeria.
The minister pointed out that cooperation between the two compounds will contribute to enhancing the transfer of modern technology and supporting scientific research, explaining that the project will be part of multiple strategic partnerships aimed at enhancing its capabilities and expanding its impact in the health sector.
The same speaker stressed that these initiatives are part of a national strategy to enhance health security and raise the quality of treatment in Algeria, by integrating the latest science and medical techniques, while emphasizing the importance of the concerted efforts of the various sectors to ensure the sustainability and development of the health sector.
According to the terms of the agreement, the “Madar” complex will ensure the funding of this ambitious project, while the “Sidal” complex will contribute to its technical and scientific experience and its laboratory structures, in addition to the formation of tires and researchers in this innovative field.
