Algeria chairs a meeting of the African Union – Algerian Dialogue

The Algerian ambassador and its permanent representative to the African Union, Mohamed Khaled, chaired a meeting to discuss ways to enhance coordination and consultation between the African Peace and Security Council and the African Group of the UN Security Council (A3+).

According to an official statement, the meeting was a pivotal station for both parties in order to renew the dynamics of joint work, and to give greater effectiveness to efforts to enhance the presence of the African bloc within the international bodies and defend the interests of the continent in the UN Security Council. This comes in the context of implementing the high -level symposium recommendations on peace and security in Africa – the Oran path – which has proven its importance in uniting the African row.

The meeting also highlighted the dual role that Algeria plays as a member of the African Peace and Security Council and the UN Security Council, which reflects its firm commitment to supporting the joint African work and enhancing security and stability in the continent, as well as communicating the voice of the African Union in international platforms.

The members of the Council expressed their satisfaction with the inclusion of this meeting within the agenda of the Peace and Security Council under the presidency of Algeria, appreciating the level of constructive discussion that would consolidate the unity of African countries and uphold its position on the global scene.
