Algeria and Mauritania strengthen the partnership through a major parliamentary committee – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The work of the first session of the Algerian-Mauritanian Grand Parliamentary Committee began, Friday morning, in Algiers, under the slogan: “Activating the parliamentary role in supporting and strengthening bilateral economic cooperation between Algeria and Mauritania: Towards an integrated and sustainable partnership,” in a step that reflects the strength of relations between the two countries and the common desire to advance them to broader levels.

This session is being held under the supervision of the Speaker of the National People’s Assembly, Ibrahim Boughali, and the Speaker of the Mauritanian National Assembly, Mohamed Bemp Mekt, in the presence of the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of African Affairs, Salma Bakhta Mansouri, along with a number of economic sector officials and representatives of relevant bodies and institutions.

The organization of this session comes in the context of the growing dynamism witnessed in Algerian-Mauritanian relations, an embodiment of the joint political will of the leadership of the two countries, and a dedication to the approach of continuous consultation and coordination in a way that strengthens the bonds of brotherhood and integration between the two peoples.

It is expected that the session will continue over two days, through four working sessions devoted to discussing the axes of bilateral cooperation and the prospects for its development, in a way that consolidates channels of institutional dialogue and serves common interests.

The participants will also discuss ways to enhance cooperation in the economic, trade and investment fields, and develop exchanges between the two countries, in addition to upgrading parliamentary coordination and exchanging experiences in legislative and oversight aspects, as well as unifying visions regarding a number of regional and international issues of common interest.
