Al-Qassam Brigades officially announces the martyrdom of the movement’s spokesman, Abu Ubaida

The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, announced the martyrdom of its official spokesman, Abu Ubaida, confirming in the same context the martyrdom of al-Qassam commander Muhammad al-Sinwar, as a result of Israeli bombing during the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip.

A number of observers had noticed the absence of Abu Ubaida from media appearances at pivotal stages of the war, as the movement resorted to issuing written statements instead of the audio or video presentations that the official spokesman used to provide, as he was the most prominent voice of the Qassam in announcing its official positions.

Accounts varied regarding the fate of Abu Ubaida during the recent period, before the Israeli occupation army announced, about two days after targeting him, confirming his death based on intelligence data, according to what was stated by the Minister of the Occupation Army, Yisrael Katz.

Local Palestinian media also reported on members of the Abu Ubaida family confirming that he was martyred in an Israeli raid targeting Gaza City, at a time when there continued to be a state of conflict in the data issued by some sources within the Hamas movement regarding his fate.
