
Today, Sunday, the Minister of Health, Professor Mohamed Siddiq Ait Messaoudane, accompanied by the Minister and Governor of Algiers, Mohamed Abdel Nour Rabhi, made a field visit to the Algiers Province, as part of the periodic follow-up of the sector’s projects and to determine the progress of the completion of the new health structures, according to a statement by the Ministry.
During this visit, the Minister, accompanied by the governor, inspected two health facilities in both the municipality of Baraki and Raghaya, with a capacity of 120 beds for each facility, in addition to a facility specialized in motherhood and childhood in the municipality of Raghaya, with a capacity of 60 beds.
The Minister had a close look at the various facilities and wings, and received comprehensive explanations about the pace of work and the type of expected equipment.
The progress of work on these facilities has reached between 95 and 96 percent, which reflects the efforts made by the various stakeholders, and they will enter into service during the second trimester of next year 2026, as stated by the Minister of Health, after completing the final touches and connecting them to the necessary medical equipment.
This visit falls within the framework of implementing the health sector program aimed at strengthening health structures, expanding the network of hospital institutions, and improving the quality of public health services provided to citizens.
Thus, the state of Algiers will be strengthened with three new hospitals, including Ain Al-Benyan Hospital, which were completed according to modern standards that respond to the requirements of modern health care.
These facilities will also be equipped with the latest advanced medical supplies and equipment, especially medical imaging devices, such as scanners and specialized x-rays, in addition to providing various hospital facilities, which will reduce the pressure on existing health structures, improve the quality of patient care and bring health services closer to citizens.
On this occasion, the Minister of Health appreciated the great efforts made by the Governor of Algiers, along with all local executives and actors, in accompanying health projects and ensuring their completion within the specified deadlines and with the required quality, in service of the public interest.
The Minister also confirmed that the Algerian state, under the high directives of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, renews its firm commitment to continuing to develop the health sector, by strengthening health structures and providing human resources, to ensure the promotion and improvement of the public health service, and to respond to the aspirations of citizens in various parts of the country.
In conclusion, the Minister of Health explained that the completion of hospitals with a capacity of 120 beds falls within a national strategy aimed at disseminating this model of health structures across the various states of the country, as an effective and appropriate formula for responding to local health needs, especially in areas with medium population density.
