Diversifying housing formulas to ensure social justice
In a related context, the Ministry of Housing explained that the state’s housing policy is based on enabling various social groups to benefit from adequate housing, by diversifying Residential formulas This allows each group to choose the formula that suits its level of income and financial capabilities.
These formulas include, according to the Ministry, rural housing, rental sales, Subsidized support housingand public promotional housing, which is directed to different groups according to precise standards linked mainly to the level of monthly income and the social status of housing seekers.
24 thousand dinars for low-income groups
Regarding setting the family income ceiling for benefiting from public rental housing at 24 thousand dinars, the Ministry confirmed that this measure particularly takes into account the situation of low-income and needy groups, who do not have housing or reside in inappropriate conditions.
She also stressed that families whose income exceeds this ceiling can turn to other housing formulas programmed to benefit them, ensuring a fair distribution of the various housing formulas according to the financial capabilities of each group.
In the same context, she explained that benefiting from each housing formula remains directly linked to the level of income, as those whose family income exceeds 24 thousand dinars cannot benefit from social housing, but they can benefit from other formulas, such as the formula Sale for rent Which provides bank loans on easy terms and the possibility of payment in installments.
Raising the ceiling is currently out of the question
The Ministry of Housing concluded by emphasizing that the proposal to raise the maximum family income to benefit from public rental housing is not on the table at the current circumstance, considering that the approved ceiling is still in line with the social nature of this formula, while not ruling out studying this option in the future if economic or social variables arise that require it.
