African Confederation Cup: USMA and CS Belouizdad confirm

The fifth and penultimate round of the group stage of the African Confederation Cup concluded on Sunday evening.
Seven full matches were held for the four groups, including two for national football representatives USM Belouizdad and CS Belouizdad.

The champion of the competition in 2023, Ittihad Al-Capital Club, achieved the highest points tally this season, as it scored 13 points out of a possible 15.
The people of Soustara continued to dominate the first group, which includes Olympique Safi of Morocco, Djoliba of Mali, and San Pedro of Ivory Coast.
Al-Ittihad achieved its fourth victory in the group stage and its second away from home, when it moved to Ivory Coast to meet San Pedro at the Laurent Bouco stadium.
The squad of interim coach Haj Adlan scored two goals through Cameroonian Che Malone and Congolese Glodie Liconza within five minutes of the referee announcing the start of the match.
The locals returned to reduce the gap with Issouf Dosso in the sixth minute, then equalized through the same player in the 38th minute.
Substitute Mohamed Bouderbala decided the result for USMA in the 92nd minute with a powerful shot that gave the team the three points.
The black and red owners will host Olympique Safi in a match that remains a formality after securing the lead, next Sunday, at the July 5, 1962 stadium in the capital.
A strong return to youth
CS Belouizdad overcame the harsh loss they suffered in the second round against Congolese Otoho by a complete four-point victory.
German coach Siad Ramovich’s squad has recently recovered to record three consecutive victories, including two outside Algeria.
Striker Ihab Belhousini scored his third goal in the African Confederation Cup this season, leading Al-Aqiba to victory over Tanzanian Singida Black Stars in Zanzibar.
CS Belouizdad is eagerly awaiting the next match to avenge its harsh defeat against Congolese Otoho, at the end of the group stage matches.
Only three points separate Al-Shabab, who leads the third group, from Otoho (9 points).
