The Algerian Public Television Corporation announced that it has acquired the rights to broadcast 15 matches for the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco 2025.
The signal for the start of the competition will be given on Sunday, with the participation of 24 teams led by the first national team under the leadership of Bosnian coach Vladimir Petkovic.
The Algerian Public Television Corporation revealed on its website that the broadcast of matches is not limited to those that the Greens will play, but extends to sister teams without specifying the latter.
The football matches will be broadcast on the first terrestrial channel, which can also be received via the Nilesat satellite.
Algeria will participate, along with 5 other Arab teams, in the continental competition, which ends on January 18, 2026.
The Desert Warriors compete in Group Five, along with Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea and Sudan.
Leader Riyad Mahrez’s teammates will begin their journey in the competition next Wednesday, when they face Sudan in Rabat.
Algeria will meet the Jedan Falcons for the third time this year, after the African National Championship and the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025.
Unlike the Warriors, the Sudanese chose to play both competitions with the senior national team led by Ghanaian coach Kwasi Appiah.
The previous two matches ended in a draw, but the African Championship saw Sudan qualify for the semi-finals after resorting to penalty kicks.
The Greens are counting on the victory against Sudan to enter the African Championship strongly, and avoid the scenario of the previous two editions.
In the Cameroon 2021 and Ivory Coast 2023 tournaments, the national team was unable to overcome Sierra Leone and then Angola, where it tied both matches.
As a result, the two stumbles hampered Al-Khader’s start and eliminated him from the first round.
